Online Photography Education and Workshops
Why Learn from Chrissy?
Photography workshops and online education with me are a lot of things, dull is certainly not one of them. I like to think of myself as personable, approachable, and with a good sense of humor which is hopefully reflected in my teaching style. My teaching motto is the same as my outdoor motto: prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Often, students don’t know where to start with asking questions. As a beginner, I know I certainly didn’t know where to begin.
With that said, I often kick off a workshop with a classroom session to lay out the foundations of composition, colors, mood, and seeing a landscape scene. Typically, that is enough to spark more in-depth discussions on various nature photography topics. In addition, this allows me to give each student the attention needed for their own personal improvement. This can range anywhere from technical assistance with camera gear, accessories, and in-field scenarios all the way to creative expression and ways to think about and capture emotionally compelling images.
Most people enjoy the boots-on-the-ground method of an in-person workshop, but sometimes that isn’t practical. Therefore, I occasionally am able to offer group workshops on location as well as private field session workshop. In addition, I host a number of 1-2-1 virtual photography mentoring sessions. This gives me more opportunities to give individual guidance on the photographic process.
How to Organize Your Photos in Lightroom Course
If my friends were to vote on my superpower, organization would be the unanimous winner. Organizing is just a part of my being. Then, Industrial Engineering gave me the technical tools to master efficiencies and organization. I brought all those skills into my landscape photography and how I organize my photos in Adobe Lightroom Classic. This course walks you through everything you need to know to set up and organize your photos in Lightroom in 4 hours. Moreover, if you already have a mess, it shows you the best way to organize your clutter so you can spend more time with your photography and less time looking for your photos!
1-2-1 Virtual Photography Mentoring Sessions
A 1-2-1 virtual photography mentoring session is one of the best way to accelerate your growth as a photographer. These sessions are 60 minutes dedicated to a focus area of your choosing through Zoom. This is where you find answers to your questions, receive feedback on your images, help with your methods, and learn things you didn’t know that you didn’t know.
Private Field Sessions
Based on availability, I am able to offer a few private photography workshops each year. The cost is based on a daily flat rate plus any applicable travel expenses. Each private workshop will begin with an email or video call to identify your objectives. Afterward, I will custom-tailor the experience to meet your photographic goals.
